The Treatment.

The Music Magazine: The New Music Generation

Target Readership: The New Music Generation is a fresh, vibrant and dazzling music magazine, which is aimed at old teenagers (14 to 19 + year olds). This magazine, is aimed at older teenagers. This idealodgy, is what I want reflected in my  music magazine hence the title " New Music Generation". The main readers, would be categorised in the C1/C2 section, other readers will include teengers from ages 14 to 19 whom might be situated in the C2 section, as some teengers work in companies, nowadays. However, most of them will still be in school, therefore, they will not fit into any grade, particularly. In addition to this, a few readers will include proffessional workers of a higher standard ( 19 year olds); they may want to read my music magazine to help them feel like they still are; The  Succeeder . The average reader would be interested in classical music or atleast know what type of music is made. To conclude, my music magazine mainly focuses on teenagers. It strives to atleast, interest the young teengers (14 yaer olds) and old teenagers self - esteem. ' The New Music Generation' should help keep The Explorer/Succeeder/ Mainstream, calabar that they are alive.  The New Music Generation is meant to be for the reader that likes to think positively about themeself and wants to believe in themself , always willing to try anything different and moreover is a kind and  bubbly person.

Form and Style: The New Music Generation is an A4 magazine that contains bright colours and boring colours ( blacks, greys and limited areas that are white). This A4 magazine, will contain the recent news in the music industry and will present to you the latest girl bands, aswell. Depending on the season some issues may contain a CD, however this is not in all of the issues. In addition to this, In order to make this magazine favourable, to every generation, the magazine will contain advice on how teenagers, who would like to consider music, photography, music videoing ,film making ,inventing games, fashion, or even health/ well being, as a course, would like to study when approaching university. The cover, will include graphics that are colourful, bold, bright and comprehendable, but at the same time, will have the feel and look of a formal , ideal and informative magazine that parents would normally browse through. Whether it be office workers, domestic workers, or students/ pupils; this magazine will welcome them gracefully.

Themes and Typical features: The New Generation issues will look similar and have the the typical features of a music magazine aimed for the youth . The main focus will be on female singers and popstars who like to express themselves in an entertaining and fun way. It will also put an emhasis on how important it is to keep friendship and music connected within a person. The magazine, will try and involve known teen bands and advertise known teen gigs as much as possible. Articles about new bands and contests will be advertised for young teens to sign in on and make new friends. The tone of these articles will be carefully portrayed as informal so that teenagers can read to enjoy and play around with . Language, throughout the magazine will be easy to understand for all readers.

Potential Advertisers: Eye- catching and trendy brands will be advertised in 'The New Generation' to make the magazine as vibrant, refreshing and melodious as possible to readers, each month. Those interested in fashion, beauty, well being and how to live a healthy lifestyle. Some brands for example include Miss Selfidge, Topshop, New Look, Punky Fish, H&M etc.

What makes a good photograph.

The things that constitute a very good photograph are:

  • The colours used inside the photogragh.
  • The tone used.
  • What image is actually taken.
  • Symmetry of  an object (e.g. two houses).
  • Does the picture look unbalanced?
  • Framing (a frame within another frame).
  • Lighting.
  • The position at which you take your photo is also important and adds to the effect.
  • Landscape . It would be better, to take a portrait photo and use this as the the front cover. Otherwise, when it comes to putting it onto your magazine, you may have to resize it a number of times.
