Common Sense by Luton Sixth Form and editors Katie Firmin and Katie Hollingsworth- The headline is very bold and in a big typeface to catch the reader attention. The layout of the page mainly shows a series of picture opposite the actual content page to introduce the readers to the magazine. An ellipsis has been used to indicate to the reader that there is more inside therefore a lot of information is in the magazine. A rhetorical question has been included to create a sense of humour to the magazine and make the reader want to know more. The content page is not categorical but numerical in order therefore it is easy for the reader to follow, this forms part of the brand identity. To the side of the page a column has been made only for images, explaining what each of the pages discuss, therefore if a teenager does not prefer reading a piece of text, then alongside the text will be an image which the reader can look at. The magazine is flexible in teenager preference, which is an advantage for the readers as well as producers. Exclusives are listed to excite the reader in the editorial and highlighted in the colour blue to make you see these words or phrases first. The mode of address is very colloquial and then used in the editorial to inform the reader that the magazine’s main purpose is to entertain teenagers. A caption has been situated underneath a smaller image of the magazine, to guide our attention to the person that created the design and photograph.
